Interface Changes

While there are significant interface changes through out BbVista, the changes listed below may impact your experience more than others. This is especially true for those used to our previous system, WebCT CE 4.1.

New Item Notification

There are 2 places to inform you of when new content becomes availabe within a course.

My Blackboard

Under the course title, an icon corresponding to the tool with new content will appear.

New Discussion New Email New Announcement New Weblink

New Calendar item New Assignment New Assessment (Quiz)

Course Tools

In the main toolbar within the course, a will appear next to the tool with new content.

Please Note: There is no longer a notification of pending due dates for assignments or other gradeable activities. Those who have used our previous platform (WebCT CE 4.1), should take note.

Expand/Collapse of Course Tools bar

At various times through out your course interaction, the Course Tools may collapse to increase screen real estate for course content. The tool links are still usable, however if you wish to see the names of the icons, you may expand the Course Tools by clicking on the gray arrows.

This also works if you would like to manually collapse the Course Tools.
