Criterion Three
Student Learning and Effective Teaching

The self-study found that Webster provides evidence of student learning and of teaching effectiveness that demonstrates that the University is fulfilling its educational mission.

The self-study was pleased with the remarkable progress that has been achieved throughout all of the Colleges and Schools in fully implementing their assessment processes. This work has facilitated two of our largest schools (Business and Education) to also prepare for specialized accreditation. Clearly, the institution values, supports, and builds effective teaching and effective learning environments.

Considerable resources supporting faculty, and academic resources supporting teaching and learning, are evident and documented in this report. These include technology and our model library system, which the self-study found to be center of excellence. The University’s Academic Assessment Center has provided important leadership and support with our academic assessment initiatives and processes.

The Self-Study Report documents major findings and identifies further areas of improvement for our continuous improvement processes.
