Who is Webster University?

Webster University is a private, comprehensive, international university offering undergraduate and graduate programs in a variety of disciplines including the liberal arts, fine and performing arts, business, and management. Founded in 1915, Webster University serves students at its main campus in St. Louis, Missouri, and more than 100 extended campus locations in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Approximately 22,000 students are currently enrolled in the University’s programs worldwide.

What degree programs do you offer in the Brevard County area?

In Brevard County, Webster University offers the Master of Arts (M.A.), the Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.), the Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) and the Master of Science (M.S.) with the following areas of concentration:

What is the average class size?

Although classes may range in size from 4 to 25 students, average class size is 12. This provides greater opportunity for collaborative learning and student-faculty interaction.

Do I have to take the GRE or the GMAT to be admitted to Webster University?

No. To qualify for admission a student is not required to complete an entrance exam but must have earned a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university. A student is advanced to candidacy upon completion of 12 semester hours with a B average or above. We believe that maturity and motivation are more accurate indicators of an adult learner’s potential for success than scores on standardized tests.

What type of accreditation does Webster University have?

Webster University has been regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools since 1925. This accreditation covers both undergraduate and graduate classes at all locations where the University offers programs. The University is licensed in Florida by the Commission for Independent Education.

How are your classes scheduled?

Webster offers five 9-week terms each calendar year, beginning in January, March, May, August, and October. Depending upon your degree program, it is possible to begin classes at any of these times. Most classes meet one night a week from 5:30 to 9:30pm or on Saturdays from 8:00am to 12:00 Noon or 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

What are the qualifications of the faculty?

Faculty are required to have both the academic credentials and real-world experience in the subjects they teach, bringing a blend of theory and practice to the classroom.

Can I transfer credits to Webster University that I earned at another school?

Webster University will consider for transfer up to 12 semester hours for students in M.A. programs, up to 9 hours for M.B.A. students, and up to 3 hours for M.S. Computer Science students. Credit must have been earned at regionally accredited graduate institutions or from professional military education, provided these credits are relevant to your course of study at Webster, and the grades earned in those classes were no lower than a B-.

How long will it take me to complete my degree program?

By taking two courses per term, it is possible for you to complete the M.A., the M.B.A., M.P.A, or M.S. degree requirements in as little as 14 months. Students enrolled in the M.A. in Counseling, the M.B.A. with an emphasis, or M.B.A. students requiring prerequisite course work will take longer.

What does it cost to attend Webster University?

Tuition for the 2007-2008 academic year is $435/credit hour or $1,305 per 3-semester hour class. Professional seminars are $435 for one semester hour credit.

Are there any other fees?

Except for books, the only other costs are a $50 application fee and a $50 graduation fee. There are no additional registration or activity fees.

What are my options for paying tuition?

Private company tuition reimbursement, Veteran's Administration educational benefits, Military Tuition Assistance, deferred payment plan, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and personal check are acceptable methods of payment.

Is financial aid available?

Students are eligible to participate in the University’s student loan program. However, the amount of financial aid available may vary for each student and is determined by the Financial Aid Office at Webster University’s main campus in St. Louis.
