Webster University Financial Aid Form
Financial aid is not automatically awarded when you complete the FAFSA. The Webster University 2008-2009 Graduate Financial Aid Form is used in conjunction with the FAFSA to process your award. It is very important to complete the this form and promptly submit it to your home campus.
Projected Enrollment:
- Mark all terms that you plan to attend.
- If you plan to enroll in two classes per term (full-time), write “6 credits” beneath that term. You must be continuously enrolled at least half-time (3 credits) to be eligible for Financial Aid or the loan will be canceled.
- You must enroll for all terms stated on your Graduate Financial Aid Form.
- If you are attending both of the Fall terms and/or both of the Spring terms you must register for Fall 1 & 2 at the same time and/or Spring 1 & 2 at the same time. If you do not register for both terms you will not receive your financial aid disbursement.
- It is your responsibility to properly enroll.
- If there is any change in enrollment, contact your home campus immediately.
Other Aid:
- Indicate any tuition assistance you will receive.
- If none, check “No tuition assistance will be received.”
Requested Stafford Student Loan Amount:
- Indicate the amount you wish to borrow. Things to consider: tuition, books, equipment and/or supplies (i.e., computer, software, etc.), and other miscellaneous expenses (i.e., childcare).
- To receive the maximum amount you are qualified for, including subsidized and unsubsidized, write "MAX" in the box.
- To receive only the subsidized portion of the loan, write "SUBSIDIZED ONLY" near the amount box.
SAR - Student Aid Report
The SAR confirms that your FAFSA was successfully processed and is mailed directly to your home. Review the information on the SAR for accuracy and make any necessary corrections online at www.fafsa.ed.gov (“Make Corrections to a Processed FAFSA”) or handwrite the changes directly on the report and mail to the address listed on the SAR. If no correction is needed, file for your records.
HigherOne Webster Debit Card
All refunds, including financial aid and tuition refund disbursements, are sent via the Webster Debit Card issued through HigherOne. Upon enrolling at Webster University, you will be mailed the card. It is important to activate this card as soon as you receive it, even if you do not anticipate receiving a refund.
Refunds Will Not Be Disbursed Until Your Card Is Activated!
Activate your card online at www.websterdebitcard.com. Scroll to the “Get Started” section (located on the bottom right of the screen) and enter your 16-digit card number in the appropriate boxes on the photo of the card. Select Activate. On the activation page, enter your card number again, your name, the security code from the back of the card, and the month and year of your birth (not the last four digits of your social security number). When prompted, enter the email address you want HigherOne to use to send you information and reminders.
During the activation process, you must indicate how you would like to receive refunds. Your refund choices are:
- Easy Refund—Your refund will be credited directly to your HigherOne Webster Debit Card. You must open a no-fee checking account through HigherOne (OneAccount).
- ACH Transfer (to other bank) — Your refund will be electronically transferred to your existing checking or savings account. You must provide the bank’s routing number and the account number. You will then need to complete, print, and mail a paper ACH form to HigherOne.
- Paper Check—Your refund will be mailed to you in the form of a paper check.
If you have problems activating your card, call HigherOne Customer Service at 1-877-474-1960.
Disbursements
Webster follows the Federal Government’s guidelines on how to disburse student loans. If you plan to attend the full 2008-2009 financial aid year - Summer (2008), Fall 1 & 2 (2008), and Spring 1 & 2 (2009) - the loan will be disbursed in three* (not five) equal amounts (Summer, Fall 1, and Spring 1).
Your financial aid is credited to your account after the add/drop deadline. Webster uses the funds to pay all outstanding charges. Any remaining funds are refunded to you according to the refund preference you chose when you activated your HigherOne Webster Debit Card.
* The three disbursements are of equal amounts — even though the tuition for the Summer term is less than the combined tuition of Spring 1 and 2 or Fall 1 and 2. Students who receive a refund for the Summer should save that money until they are sure it will not be needed to pay tuition for the Fall or Spring terms.
Change Form
The Webster University Stafford Loan Change Form is used to request additional funding or report changes due to:
- a break in enrollment (skipping a term).
- an increase or decrease in credit hours per term.
- an increase or decrease in terms per academic year.
Any dollar amount requested will be in addition to funds that have been disbursed to you. As stated previously, the maximum anyone can qualify for is $20,500. If assistance is required, contact the Financial Aid Representative at your home campus.
