Vision
Usually occurs over a long-term time horizon; provides something imaginary to strive for as part of the University’s future. a.k.a. “strategic thinking”
Goals
Results describing what the University is trying to achieve in support of the Vision
Objectives
Multiple statements describing the manner in which the results or outcomes will be achieved over a specific period of time in support of a goal
Strategies
Plans of action designed to achieve particular University Objectives i.e. New Academic Initiatives, Resource/Budget Plans, Space Plans
Metrics
Set of measurements that quantify results so that the University’s Strategies can be analyzed and used to assess the actions taken in an unbiased manner
Core Value
A distinctive intrinsic characteristic or quality. A value is NOT a goal. (guiding principles of behavior through time, clear and succinct - they do not change over time)

Through understanding, incorporating and embracing diversity, the College community will promote learning, inclusiveness, acceptance and respect for those with differing characteristics, lifestyles and histories.
Traditional Student
A student who is typically 18 years old and enters the university as an undergraduate straight from high school.
Non-Traditional Student
A student who can be an undergraduate or graduate and enters the university as a transfer from a community college or other higher education institution, this type of student can attend class on a part-time basis.
