Lisa Sommerhauser, MPH, RN, BC
Sommerhauser is the Director of Student Health Services and has twelve years of experience as a College Health Nurse-Director beginning at St. Louis Community College at Meramec. She is Board Certified in College Health Nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Lisa earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Public Health (MPH) Degrees from Saint Louis University. Her MPH concentration includes a Certificate in Biosecurity and Disaster Preparedness.
Lisa has held a variety of leadership positions in the American College Health Association (ACHA), including Past President of the Central College Association (affiliate, 2004), and Past Region II Representative to the ACHA Board of Directors (2005-07). She is currently Chair of the ACHA Awards Advisory Committee. Lisa has extensive knowledge of college health, nurse-directed operations and management, policy, public health, leadership and crisis management.
Suzanne Maddox, RN
Maddox is the University Health Nurse. She received her Associate in Applied Science Degree from St. Louis Community College at Meramec. Suzanne has previous experience as a college health nurse. She has additionally has extensive experience in a variety of healthcare roles including service as an RN at St. Luke’s Cardiovascular, Thoracic and Neuro Intensive Care Unit, an Emergency Medical Technician, a Referral Specialist for Group Health Plan, a labor and delivery Doula at BJC, and also an American Heart Association Instructor-Trainer.
Suzanne brings a large variety of knowledge in college health, emergency and critical care, insurance and referral services, and excellent nursing assessment and communication skills.
Amy Clayton
Clayton is the Department Associate. Amy graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Amy brings front office operational experience and organizational skills from previous employment in a in a variety of healthcare organizations. Her experience in a broad range of healthcare customer service roles and high regard for patient care support processes round out the Student Health Services team.
