To obtain a social security number, you will need to go to the local Social Security Administration Office. Take your passport and Form I-94 (it should be in your passport), and if you are a J-1 visa holder, your DS-2019, and if you are an F-1 visa holder, your I-20, and the letter issued by The International Recruitment and International Services Office. You can pick up an application from the International Student Advisor (Loretto Hall 55). After you have given the attendant your documents, ask for a receipt.
