Parents, guardians, and families definitely have a part in New Student Orientation!

Orientation weekend can be an emotional time for students and parents alike. All of the Orientation Leaders were new students at one time, and are definitely sensitive to what the new students are going through.

If you are coming to Orientation, we welcome you to attend several "parents-only" sessions that will be conducted concurrently with the student activities. You are also welcome to dine with us on Friday and Saturday. When your student receives the registration packet for Orientation, you will see the option to include parents/family members for meals. For students meals are no cost, however there is extra cost per family member. Make sure if you are planning on coming you indicate this on the registration form so we can have enough food for everyone. We look forward to seeing all parents but on Saturday we are having a farewell lunch, so it's time to let your students start a new adventure alone.

A great source for any parent is Staying Connected, a newsletter created specifically for parents of first year students at Webster University. If you are travelling from outside St. Louis to be with your student during orientation, you have several options on where to spend the night. We have done a little legwork for you and compiled a list of area hotels. The miles listed are the distance from the hotel to Webster University.
