January
Hints for Parents ...

  • Understand that students may want to explore the possibility of changing majors. This can be common among first year students once they have an academic semester behind them. The staff in Academic Advising and Career Services can be helpful in this process
  • Encourage your student to get out during the winter to avoid cabin fever
  • Start of spring semester. Make sure your student is enrolled in 12 hours to remain athletically eligible, or at least 13 credit hours if they have Webster financial aid.
  • Remind your student athlete to introduce themselves to their professors and provide a schedule of team games that may conflict with class.
  • Spring sports (baseball, softball and tennis) begin practice.
  • Encourage your son or daughter to get involved in a campus organization.
  • Gather materials to complete the FAFSA for next year’s financial aid. The FAFSA can be submitted online at www.fafsa.ed.gov and the priority deadline is April 1.
