STUDENT PROFILE
Hannah Wojahn
Cannon Falls, Minnesota
International Relations
By Emily Kothe, sophomore English major

Staying Connected: Any advice for parents?
Hannah Wojahn : Send care packages, they’re more amazing than you can ever imagine.

SC: What has been your best on campus experience?
HW: Becoming best friends with someone in St. Louis who I found out is only an hour from my hometown in MN.

SC: What has been your worst on campus experience?
HW: My roommate and I trying to put our loft kit together by ourselves.

SC: Is your current workload with classes more or less than you thought it would be?
HW: It’s pretty much what I thought it would be, but a lot more reading than I figured.  I feel like I’m majoring in reading.

SC: What do your weekends usually consist of doing?
HW: It usually consists of a mixture between on campus activities and venturing off campus to do random fun things such as going to the City Museum, the Zoo, and visiting friends’ houses.

SC: What do you most miss about high school and/or living at home?
HW: Free laundry. Homemade dinners.

SC: Do you have an on campus job?  If so, where/how many hours a week?
HW: No, I don’t have a job because tennis limits my after school hours, at least in the spring.

SC: Favorite aspects of campus life?
HW: I really like the fact that messages and announcements are left on the sidewalks in chalk.  I like how campus activites and student organizations try to get everyone involved.  And our library rocks- it’s big and comfortable to study in.  And as much as I dread living in the dorms it’s really to be close to your friends and have them down the hall.

SC: What’s on your desk right now?
HW: My computer, a lamp, a water bottle, a beanie hat because it’s cold out, letters from home, and junk from my pockets.

Staying Connected: Any advice for freshmen?
Sam Mosley: It really pays off to talk to your professors if you’re concerned about grades or anything else.

SC: Any advice for parents?
SM: Packages and letters are the best things ever.  It’s nice to hear from you once in a while, but not too often.

SC: What has been your best on campus experience?
SM: There’s been some good Ultimate Frisbee action.

SC: What has been your worst on campus experience?
SM: Helping new found friends with intense emotional difficulties.

SC: Is your current workload with classes more or less than you thought it would be?
SM: The workload itself is about what I thought it would be, but the adaptation to a new lifestyle and being able to manage it and still stay healthy is definitely more difficult than I thought it would be.

SC: What do your weekends usually consist of doing?
SM: Homework, studying, ultimate Frisbee, hanging out with friends, playing around.

SC: What do you most miss about high school and/or living at home?
SM: Highschool- nothing, except being able to all meet at the same time when class gets out to go play Frisbee or something.  I miss not having to climb down from the ceiling in order to get yourself up.  It’s too much effort when you have to write a paper.  Homecooked meals.

SC: Do you have an on campus job?  If so, where/how many hours a week?
SM: Yeah, Faculty Development Center, 8-ish hours a week.

SC: Favorite aspects of campus life?
SM: Being able to walk downstairs and see my friends and the bond that I form with professors so that I can easily email them or even go to lunch after class.

SC: What’s on your desk right now?
SM:
Computer, can of compressed air, a Wii, Harry Potter 6, a flashlight, notepad.
