Staying Connected: Do you have any advice for parents or incoming freshman?
Patty Senft: For incoming freshman, always keep an open mind, get involved in organizations or clubs and don't forget to stay on track with your studies and homework. For the parents: I know it's hard that your baby is leaving you for the first time, but know that they will be and are fine. Just keep in contact, but don't stalk them or call them every day, naps are important and we don't want to be woken up from them by a phone call.. Let them call you every once in a while and get their schedule so you know when it's a good time to call. We still love you.

SC: What has been your best on-campus experience?
PS: My best experiences on campus have been getting involved and founding the Sorority, Delta Phi Epsilon, and living in the dormitories. You can meet so many different people in the res halls.

SC: What has been your worst on campus experience?
PS: Living in the residence halls. I love it mostly, but escaping the dorms is not so easy. We can't always just go home and recover our old comfort zone. But it's okay because it helps you grow and strengthen as a person.

SC: Is your current workload with classes more or less than you thought it would be?
PS: It's pretty much what I expected. It's not super-easy, but it's not overwhelming either. Being fully prepared for anything is the key.

SC: What do your weekends usually consist of doing?
PS: When I'm not doing stuff with the Sorority, then I am attending Residential Housing Association (RHA) conferences, hanging out with friends and homework is shoved in there somewhere.

SC: What do you miss most about high school and/or living at home?
PS: I miss my best friends and seeing them every day. I also miss my bed from home.

SC: Do you have an on campus job? If so, where/how many hours a week?
PS: Yes, I work at Undergraduate Admissions and I love it. I work about...6 to 8 hours a week.

SC: Do you have a favorite aspect of campus life?
PS: How small we are. It is really personal and I get to know a lot of people and see familiar faces every time I leave my room and walk to class. I also like that the food is close...I like food.

SC: What’s on your desk right now?
PS: My laptop, a huge stack of papers for midterms, food, diet coke can and...pictures.

SC: What was the last thing you listened to on your iPod?
PS: "Grey Street" by the Dave Matthews Band. It's my favorite song and everyone should know it.
