| Work Study Funding Liz Condon-Oakberg, Student Employment Coordinator Is your student interested in Work Study funding? In order to be eligible for Federal Work Study funds, you and your student must submit the Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The 2009-2010 FAFSA is available on January 1, 2010. The fastest and easiest way to complete the FAFSA is online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Students must complete the FAFSA to apply for federal financial aid for the 2009-2010 school year. It is best to submit the FAFSA as early as possible. However, the priority filing date for Webster University is March 1, 2010. If you file your FAFSA by the priority deadline, then it ensures that your application will be reviewed before priority funds are depleted (such as Work Study funds). MORE |

| The Freshmen Year Excitement Continues.......for Most By Patrick Stack, D.Min., director of counseling Most freshmen have had enough of the holiday break. They are itching to get back to campus, and commence with seeing friends, going to school, and moving forward with academic careers. Some freshmen are not sure if this school stuff is right for them. Perhaps disappointing first semester grades, renewed friendships from high school days, or doubts about a declared major are contributing to indifference about returning to Webster. If your student is experiencing indifference, suggest they speak to a counselor in the Health Service/Counseling Center, located in a house at 540 Garden Avenue (near the bookstore). All sessions are confidential. Often a session or two will help students regain a sense of enthusiasm and purpose. MORE |
