Room Sign-Up Process for Fall 2010
By Katie McComb-Knetzer, Assistant Director, Housing and Residential Life

It’s almost time for your son/daughter to turn in the Intent Form stating whether or not he/she wants to return to campus housing in Fall 2010. These Intent Forms are due to the Office of Housing and Residential Life by 5:00pm on February 1. If you are wondering what happens next in the process, read on!

If your student is NOT planning to return to campus housing in Fall 2010:

  • He/she is still required to turn in the Intent Form. If your student does not return the form, the $150 security deposit will be forfeited.

If your student IS planning to return to campus housing in Fall 2010:

  • If your student completes the form properly and turns it in by the deadline, he/she will be entered into the Room Sign-Up process.
  • By Thursday, February 11, he/she will receive an email with an assigned date and time for Room Sign-Up.
  • Room Sign-Up takes place over a period of three days: February 18, 19, and 20. Each student / group of students will arrive at their assigned date and time to select a housing space for Fall 2010.
  • During this Room Sign-Up event, the students will sign a housing contract for Fall 2010. If they want to cancel this housing contract at any time after signing it, cancellation charges will apply. For a full listing of these charges, visit this site: http://www.webster.edu/housing/cancellationcharges.shtml.
  • If any students cannot make their assigned dates and times for Room Sign-Up, they must complete a Proxy Form, available online or from the ResLife Office. For anyone signing up with a group, they should have a group member turn in the Proxy Form and choose their space. For anyone signing up as an individual, they should turn in the Proxy Form to the ResLife Office by February 17 and give ResLife permission to choose their space.
  • In mid-July, everyone who signed up to live on campus will receive an email confirming their housing and roommate assignment for Fall 2010.
That’s all there is to it! If you have additional questions about the Room Sign-Up process, please don’t hesitate to contact us (314-246-4663 or housing@webster.edu) or visit the website at http://www.webster.edu/housing/apply.shtml.
