Staying Connected (SC): Any advice for parents and/or incoming freshmen?
Andrea Pepper (AP): Get involved early on. Don’t be scared to get involved…its fun. Parents don’t worry.

SC: What has been your best on campus experience?
AP: Speech and Debate. Being a resident.

SC: What has been your worst on campus experience?
AP: Trying to find healthy dining options. End up eating the same thing.

SC: Is your current workload with classes more or less than you thought it would be?
AP: Yeah maybe a little less. But same, because of extra-curricular stuff.

SC: What do your weekends usually consist of doing?
AP: Debate tournaments. Hanging out with friends on floor.

SC: What do you miss most about high school and/or living at home?
AP: Family and trampoline.

SC: Do you have an on campus job? If so, where/how many hours a week?
AP: Work study Studio B.

SC: Favorite aspects of on campus life?
AP: How close everyone is. Don’t need to drive to see people. Just walk down the hall.

SC: What’s on your desk right now?
AP: Everything and then some. Books, plates, old homework, scripts, broken printer, paper, awards, DVDs, CDs, a recorder, business cards, can’t really see my desk.

Staying Connected (SC): Any advice for parents and/or incoming freshmen?
Jessica “Jay” Russell (JR): To get involved. Be an active member of at least one organization. Let your students experience college for themselves. Don’t smother them because they wont be able to figure out who they are.

SC: What has been your best on campus experience?
JR: Getting to know everybody. I went from being very sheltered – freeing.

SC: What has been your worst on campus experience?
JR: Having to deal with people who don’t accept my ideals or values. Getting called a “nun”.

SC: Is your current workload with classes more or less than you thought it would be?
JR: Slightly easier than I thought. Stories from people not the smame. Shock value easy.

SC: What do your weekends usually consist of doing?
JR: Sleep! That’s all I do. Slept through until 8pm last satruday. Sometimes go out.

SC: What do you miss most about high school and/or living at home?
JR: Absolutely nothing. Not at all.

SC: Do you have an on campus job? If so, where/how many hours a week?
JR: Yes, at the help. About 15 a week. Take calls and help with connections issues, troubleshooting computers.

SC: Favorite aspects of on campus life?
JR: You get to know more. Nothing is a surprise. In the loop. Ahead of everyone else.

SC: What’s on your desk right now?
JR: Office organize, printer, stuffed animal collection (not the real kind), souvenirs from Washington, D.C., books.
