Career Services Programs: Internship & Summer Job Fair and Mock Interview Days

On Wednesday, April 4, 2007 the Career Services office will be hosting an Internship & Summer Job Fair from 12:00 pm-3:00 pm in the University Center Gymnasium on the Webster Groves campus. This fair will give students the opportunity to meet with employers who are seeking to fill summer jobs, part-time jobs or internship opportunities. Job seekers should bring plenty of copies of their resumes to distribute to employers. The Career Services staff is available to assist students with resume preparation and review.

Career Services will also be hosting Mock Interview Days on Wednesday, February 28 and Thursday, March 1, 2007. Students interested in practicing their interviewing skills will truly benefit from this event. During Mock Interview Days students have the opportunity to participate in a face-to-face “practice” interview with a local employer who has experience interviewing and recruiting.

Keep in mind that it’s never too early to encourage your student to start thinking about career planning. Our office consistently hears feedback from employers who encourage students to gain work experience while in college. This experience makes students more marketable and can be obtained from a part-time job or an internship. Employers also recommend students receive interview preparation because the more practice they have the more prepared and comfortable they become with the process.
