Delegates’ Agenda Discussion
Webster University Officers’ Summit – Spring 2008

Approximately 55 student leaders from SGA and student organizations attended a session on February 8 and generated the list of 24 items shown below. They then voted for the top seven (7) items that they wanted to see discussed at the February 12 session with key university administrators.

These student leaders, joined by Student Government Association (SGA) and other student leaders (65 total), then met with the following administrators and discussed the highest priority topics. The discussion was facilitated by Elizabeth Eisele, president of SGA.

Administrators in Attendance
Neil George, interim president
Jim Staley, interim vice president for academic affairs
Dave Garafola, vice president for finance and administration
Deborah Dey, vice president for students and enrollment management
Larry Haffner, vice president for information technology
Faith Maddy, vice president for development and alumni programs
Karen Luebbert, vice president and executive assistant to the president

Other administrators also attending: Debra Carpenter, dean of the school of communications, David Stone, director of facilities planning and management

Dr. George began with some comments about Dr. Meyers’ resignation and retirement, the search for a new president, and key activities such as the HLC accreditation visit and the strategic plan.

Students made coordinated presentations, complete with PowerPoint and audience participation, to the administrators on each of the top 7 items. Discussion was then held on the feasibility of achieving the students’ goals for each issue.
