Management Major

Staying Connected: Any advice for parents?
Carlos Uribe: Never give up: you can do it, parents.

SC: Any advice for freshmen?
CU: You have to balance—it’s not only study study study—there’s sports, family and friends.

SC: What has been your best on campus experience?
CU: Living in the dorms and learning to be self-responsible.

SC: What has been your worst on campus experience?
CU: In one of my classes, my homework was erased! And also when Marletto’s is closed.

SC: Is your current workload with classes more or less than you thought it would be?
CU: Sometimes it is less than I would like.

SC: What do your weekends usually consist of doing?
CU: I sleep and I do homework, and I party. Sometimes.

SC: What do you miss most about high school and/or living at home?
CU: I miss my best friends, and my family. I miss the food.

SC: Do you have an on campus job? If so, where/how many hours a week?
CU: Yes, I work at the Front Desk as a Desk Assistant, for about twelve hours a week.

SC: Favorite aspects of on campus life?
CU: Everything, I like the classes that are really small, and the campus is small, so the walks are really short compared with larger colleges. I like the small community. And I like making a lot of friends. You’re not only a number here, but a person.

SC: What’s on your desk right now?
CU: Pictures of my family, a computer, books, a lamp, and some papers.

Staying Connected: Any advice for freshmen?
Brook Benbenek: Allow your kids to have the full college experience, especially when they don’t live on campus.

SC: Any advice for freshmen?
BB: Live on campus! Also, don’t settle for just coasting through your experience here; get involved right away.

SC: What has been your best on campus experience?
BB: It’s a tie between SGA involvement and being invited to hang out in the res halls.

SC: What has been your worst on campus experience?
BB: Just being here to go to classes; it makes campus feel one dimensional.

SC: Is your current workload with classes more or less than you thought it would be?
BB: Less. Definitely.

SC: What do your weekends usually consist of doing?
BB: Performing at basketball games, leadership retreats, seeing St. Louis with my friends.

SC: What do you miss most about high school and/or living at home?
BB: I lived in a dorm in high school and I just miss that so much, but now I live at home and it feels weird.

SC: Do you have an on campus job? If so, where/how many hours a week?
BB: Not at the moment, but I really need one.

SC: Favorite aspects of on campus life?
BB: The people and the crazy, unique events.

SC: What’s on your desk right now?
BB: I don’t have a desk.
