ROCK THE VOTE!
Four years after the closely contested Presidential election, registration
efforts have kicked into high gear. On the campus of Webster University
the newest student organization, Rock the Vote, is one that is dedicated
to voter registration. Rock the Vote is a non-profit, non-partisan organization
whose purpose is to register and educate young voters.
This semester, in addition to forming the organization, their grass
root effort has sponsored a Candidate Forum with the candidates for
city council in Webster Groves.
Rock the Vote is an energetic and exciting new addition not only to
the student organizations at Webster University, but to St. Louis. It
is the first organization of its kind in the area and is spinning off
to other campuses such as St. Louis University and University of Missouri-St.
Louis.
To check out more about Rock the Vote, visit the national website and
www.rockthevote.com.
WORKING GRADUATION
Encourage your son or daughter to work at graduation. They will get
paid as ushers, and have the opportunity to see their senior friends
turn their tassels and graduate! The general University Commencement
Ceremony for all graduates will be on May 8th at the Edward Jones Dome
in Downtown St. Louis. This ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. and last
approximately one hour. Preceding and following this event, each of
the University’s Schools & Colleges will hold their individual
diploma ceremonies.
The UC Front Desk is the place for more information, sign-ups, and registration
to work as an usher.
