Emerging First-Year Leaders

After a year of valuable experiences, these first-year students have become some of the most recognizable leaders on campus! Watch out for these students, they will be doing everything from Rocking the Vote next fall, to promoting their own rap album, to making a difference for students living in the residence halls.

Susan Riegel
Major: Mathematics, Business with an emphasis in Business Administration and a minor in Education
Home town/ Country: Koethen/ Germany
Living situation now: Living with host family in Maplewood
Favorite part about Webster: I enjoy playing volleyball with Webster's volleyball team. As a school, Webster offers a great academic environment and small class sizes and the opportunity to get to know your professors on a personal level. Most important, I love Webster's diversity and being an international student myself, I think it is a great school to get to know people.
Involvement: Webster University Volleyball Team, 2004; Webster University Orientation Leader, RBC (Regional Business Council), MEGSL (Math Educators of Greater St. Louis, Maplewood United Methodist Church, Webster Works Worldwide Volunteer
What you are looking forward to next year:
- a successful volleyball season
- a busy 18 credit hour schedule with lots of challenges
- being an Orientation Leader in the fall
- meeting more new people

Daniel Neil Miller
Major: Political Science/Public Relations but changing to Advertising and Marketing/Business Administration

Favorite part about Webster: The people are wonderful and it is so easy to
change your major
Involvement: RHA Building One Rep, RHA President-Elect, Students In Free
Enterprise (SIFE) Secretary, SIFE project leader, SGA Arts and Science
Senator, Student Ambassador, Regional Business Council (RBC) Mentorship
Network, Orientation Leader.
What you are looking forward to next year: My involvement has always been
my favorite part of school. I can't wait until RHA and SIFE start up next fall.

 

Libby Farmer
Major: Public Relations and German

Living Situation Now: Second Maria (residence hall)
Living Situation Next Year: RA in the residence halls
Favorite part about Webster: I love having a small atmosphere where everyone knows who you are and encourages you to achieve your goals.
Involvement: SAC program manager, RHA rep, SGA At-Large senator, Student Leadership Development Program, Rock the Vote, WebsterWorksWorldwide committee, Food service committee.
What you are looking forward to next year: I am looking forward to being an RA and getting to know all the new freshmen. I am also excited to see Rock the Vote take off in the fall and make an impact in St. Louis.
