Campus Housing

Our new residence halls on campus are coming along great. They are on schedule for completion in July for August occupancy. If your son or daughter is interested in living on campus, I hope they have put in an application. We expect the spaces in the new halls and our existing apartments to go fast. If you’re interested in learning more about campus housing options at Webster, check out: www.webster.edu/housing.

Campus Dining

After evaluating proposals from two major food service companies to run our Campus Dining Services for the next five years, The University has selected Sodexho. The committee, made up of students, faculty, and staff recommended Sodexho after an exhaustive process that included site visits, on-campus presentations, interviews, and surveys. Sodexho proposed some exciting changes to the dining offerings on campus, including the remodeling of the dining facilities in the University Center to include a Wow Café and Freshens Smoothies. Other changes will include the addition of Café a la Carte in the Sverdrup Business and Technology Center and the conversion of Jazzman’s Café in the Library to Emerson Café featuring Starbucks and an expanded menu.

This is probably our last issue for the 2005-06 academic year. Congratulations to your son or daughter for having just about completed their first year in college.

Have a great summer.

Sincerely,
Ted Hoef, Ph.D.
