Staying Connected: Any advice for parents?
Erin King: Trust your children, and don't call them too much. If they don't call, it doesn't mean they've forgotten about you, they just have a lot to do.

SC: Any advice for freshmen?
EK: Don't spread yourself too thin the first year. Also, don't pass up every opportunity to be involved. Most of all don't be in a hurry to get it over with; it's not high school.

SC: What has been your best on campus experience?
EK: My best on campus experience would have to be living in the dorms, and having friends on more than just my own floor.

SC: What has been your worst on campus experience?
EK: My worst on campus experience would be Marletto's on weekends.

SC: Is your current workload with classes more or less than you thought it would be?
EK: Considering it's the week before finals week, my workload is slightly less than I thought it would be.

SC: What do your weekends usually consist of doing?
EK: Friday nights: hang out with friends. Saturday: do some homework after sleeping in. Saturday night: Hang with friends. Sunday: Church, naps, homework. Sunday night: Hang with friends.

SC: What do you miss most about high school and/or living at home?
EK: I miss my extracurriculars from high school. But mostly, I miss not buying everything for myself. I miss not having money.

SC: Do you have an on campus job? If so, where/how many hours a week?
EK: Yes, I work in the Media Center, and the Ceramics studio. I work about 16 hours a week.

SC: Favorite aspects of on campus life?
EK: My favorite aspects of on campus life is that no matter where I'm going, whether class or Marletto's or just a different floor in West Hall, I always see someone I know. Most of the time, I know them through RHA. I definitely enjoy RHA.

SC: What’s on your desk right now?
EK: Cans waiting to be recycled, a bunch of books and papers, a Slinky, a rubber ducky, and a stress ball.

Staying Connected: Any advice for freshmen?
Frank Hartfield: Parents—trust your children. College is a new experience that your son or daughter must go through by themselves.

SC: Any advice for freshmen?
FS: Attendance is key to each and every one of your classes. Going to class is saying to the professor, “I want to be here.” Go to class!

SC: What has been your best on campus experience?
FS: The best campus experience was working with the MCISA. The Rock your Roots Day was incredible and I enjoyed putting it together and working it.

SC: What has been your worst on campus experience?
FS: My worst experience on campus would have to be when the attendance at campus on weekends is beyond low.

SC: Is your current workload with classes more or less than you thought it would be?
FS: My current workload with classes is less than what I expected because of the way I portion all of my work and study time.

SC: What do your weekends usually consist of doing?
FS: Weekends consist of hanging out with my friends watching movies and going out.

SC: What do you miss most about high school and/or living at home?
FS: The thing I miss about school would have to be the marching band. Especially the drumline.

SC: Do you have an on campus job? If so, where/how many hours a week?
FS: Yes, I work in the MCISA as a program assistant for maybe 10 hours a week.

SC: Favorite aspects of on campus life?
FS: I love how no matter where I am on campus, I’ll see someone I know. That’s a great feeling.

SC: What’s on your desk right now?
FS: A drum-pad and sticks.
