Minnie Bruce Pratt, Pulitzer-Prize winning activist-lesbian
writer-poet-and-longtime fighter for women's liberation will be discussing love, war,
sex, gender, transgender, and a life of political activism and poetry on November
12th at 8:00 p.m. in Webster Univerity's Sunnen Lounge.

that will be going on in the coming weeks. What do Sappho, MichelAngelo,
Oscar, Gertrude, Sylvia and Ellen all have in common?
--They are all coming to St. Louis--at the same time.
Ragged Blade Productions in association with Vicarious Productions is very
pleased to announce the week-long engagement of Estrella award-winning
performance artist JADE ESTEBAN ESTRADA in his solo musical ICONS: THE
LESBIAN AND GAY HISTORY OF THE WORLD, VOL. 1 November 18-23, 2003 at The
Theatre at St. John's in St. Louis, Missouri. ICONS: THE LESBIAN AND GAY HISTORY
OF THE WORLD, VOL. 1 is a glittering presentation of the history of the
Lesbian and Gay people as told through the voices of Sappho, MichelAngelo, Oscar
Wilde, Gertrude Stein, Sylvia Rivera and Ellen DeGeneres and has won glowing
reviews in the media.

FILM 3160.04 Topics in Film Studies
The Gay Latin American Image in Film
This eight-week course will take a look at the way
homosexuality is depicted in films that focus on the gay Latin American
image. Class will consist of weekly screenings of narrative and
documentary films from countries such as the U.S., Cuba, Mexico, Perú,
Colombia, Puerto Rico, Brazil and Argentina. Among some of the topics to
be explored are: Does representation of homosexuality in Latin America
vary from country to country and, if so, why the difference? Is
there a common thread that ties these images together? How do these
images inform gender construction in each respective region?

Gay Square Dancing is coming to St. Louis. Gateway Squares
is going to be the first LGBT square dancing club in St. Louis.
The first meeting (with lessons) will be October 13 at the Heman Park

LGBT Catholic service available. Dignity St. Louis,
the Gay and Lesbian Roman Catholic organization, sponsors a weekly
Catholic Liturgy that is open and accepting on LGBT individuals.
The service is held every Sunday, 7:30pm, at Trinity Church, 600 N.

LGBT Internships offered. PROMO, the Missouri LGBT
political activism organization, offers internships each
semester. These internships would be especially appropriate for
Political Science, Media Communications, or Business/Management
majors. If you are looking for an internship or co-op for the
Spring semester, start planning now. We will have flyers about
these internships at the next meeting.
