15 - WED –  SIGGRAPH meeting SVDP 202 9PM
16 - THU– WFVS Trivia Night 7PM location TBA - $20 for tables of 5! (that's only $4/person!) Winning table takes all! Come enjoy a night of trivia and networking!
31 - FRI - Music video/ horror shorts FEST 9.30PM in Winne Moore following the screening of Nosferatu! You-tube style! We want your music videos! We want your B - movies! We want you to wear a Halloween costume!

4 - THUR – Wrap Party! SVDP 123 4PM - Come join us for food and swap stories from your shoots!


CAST-O-PALOOZA

ACTORS:

Cattle-Call-Style Auditions will be taking place all day Sunday, Oct 12 for a wide variety of short film and video projects for Fall o8 – Spring o9 Webster University students.

Webster University student films have played everything from local film festivals to national film festivals, showcases, and television; and are a great way to gain experience and exposure.

Directors will be holding auditions during four different two-hour-blocks during the day, so you can drop in at your convenience.

Block A 10a-12p
Block B 12p-2p
Block C 4p-6p
Block D 6p-8p

Also, we ask you to drop in at the catalogue booth for our casting-catalogue to further provide you and our directors with a wider variety of opportunity to connect.

Please bring:

*Resumes and Headshots for individual directors
*Resumes and Headshots to catalogue
*a 30 second dramatic monologue and a 30 second comedic monologue, to catalogue on video

DIRECTORS:

Directors/ Casting Directors:

1. Know your shooting dates!
2. Have a brief synopsis of your film
3. Have a brief description of the characters you're casting
4. Pick a block or two, and advertise your own casting! (we recommend www.stlauditions.com, facebook, stl media wire, and flyering campus)
5. Arrive at least 10 minutes early to the Sunnen Lounge to check in
6. Bring min 25 copies of your film/character synopsis sheets
7. consider bringing a video cam or still cam to remember your actors later while casting, in case some forget headshots
8. consider reserving a separate room on campus to host more extensive auditions in


Synopsis Example:

"Woah!" -- A short film by Joe Schmoe

When alien puppies abduct Bobby's family, he must band together with his neighbors to rescue his family. Bobby discovers that through the power of friendship he is able to save the town from the alien puppies.

Characters:

Bobby - male, 10-20
Bobby's Mom – female, 30-50
Bobby's Dad - male, 30-50
Bobby's Sister – female, 2-7
Andy (the neighbor) – male, 10-20
Joey (the neighbor) – male, 10-20
10-20 Alien Puppies – puppies, any age – must be house broken

Also, post-castopalooza, a catalogue of resumes and headshots, along with a video of 1min auditions will be available on reserve at the library front desk!

Cast-o-Palooza: casting well is half the battle!
