About
the WFVS
The Webster Film and Video Society (WFVS) is
a student-based organization that focuses on the production aspects
of film and video. We are continuously building a network of
aspiring film/videomakers here at the University as well as throughout
the community. We invite people of all areas of interest to be
a part of the society.
Student Work. . .
The WFVS encourages students to show any work they have done
in film or video. This mainly takes place though our annual Webster
University Student Film Festival, which is put on by the WFVS,
and not only gives students an opportunity to showcase their
work in a professional environment, but also provides hands-on
experience for students in the production of a film festival,
that is unique to Webster University and the WFVS.
Workshops. . .
The WFVS holds a series of workshops with professionals from
the film and video community. The workshops are a great way to
learn more about your field, network with media professionals,
and gain specialized advantages in the film and video world that
aren’t available solely through film/video classes at the university.
Mentorship…
The WFVS mentorship program pairs incoming Freshmen and Transfer
students with junior and senior level students in their field.
Being involved in mentorship means having an edge both in networking
and in learning about film and video production. Be sure to sign
up for a mentor at the beginning of the fall semester.
