Obscure Brightness
Description: On our First tripe outside of Geneva, we went to Saint-Cergue and I had my camera in my hand. Later that night, to my surprise, I realized my camera was on the black and white setting. Because of my oversight, obscure brightness can be appreciated to its fullest.

Monkeys, Dragons, and Doggies, Oh My!
Description: I came up on this scene as a few friends and I were talking around admiring Khao Takiab temple and I thought it was interesting how soundly the dog was sleeping around all the energetic monkeys. There's also a lot of architecture to be seen, such as the reflection of the dragon in the window and the statue of the lion. This chaotic photo is truly a representative of Thai culture.
Location: Khao Takiab Mountain Temple in Hua-Hin, Thailand

Cross-Cultural Moments-Winner Katie Rochester
Phraya Nakhon Cave Shrine
Description: After hiking 2 kilometers up a mountain in Sam Roi Yot National park, we came across a sign for a cave shrine. From the top of the hill you have to hike down into the cave one kilometer towards the actual cave shrine. There are many spectacles within the cave shrine such as dry waterfall, signature of the kings, death-bridge and the kings thrown as well as a place for prayer.

Description: My family and I traveled to Innsbruck during Fall Break. Shortly after we arrived, my brother asked why we had chosen to visit Innsbruck. We walked around town for a few minutes before coming across this scene—the mountains partially shrouded in mist, looming over us. It was unreal. My mom simply replied, “This. This is why we're here.

Prague Gets by With a Little Help From Its Friends--Amy Clark
Description: In this photo, two friends add their contributions to the Lennon Wall in Prague, a monument similar to the Abbey Road wall in London. People from all over the world travel to Prague to add a piece of themselves to the wall in the form of a meaningful song lyric, a symbol,     a flag, or even a piece of chewed gum. As a result, the wall constantly changes with the world around it. This picture is special because written above the two friends helping each other to leave their mark, a previous contributor had written around the portrait of John Lennon, Les aventures des 2 amis… which translates from French to English: The adventures of 2 friends. This coincidental quote summarizes quite literally the two artists I photographed.

Pride in Biking--Kate Tary
Description: In the streets of the Netherlands, people ride bikes everywhere. This shot stuck out to me particularly because all three bikes looked alike. They looked as if they were placed outside a house for decoration. I really fell in love with how this house brought out one of the main features of Holland—bikes.
Location: Leiden, the Netherlands

Richard the Lionheart--Samuel Drahl

Richard the Lionheart resides outside the palace of Westminster, a stone's throw away from Big Ben. Scuba Diving at Koh Tao with Webster University Students--       Diego Alarcon
Description: Koh Tao is an island located in the south of Thailand. It is a beautiful place to visit and the biggest attraction is Scuba Diving. Is consider the third most beautiful place for dive and you can find all type of fishes, sharks, turtles, corals, etc. It was a cross-cultural moment because it was my first dive experience with the Webster University students from all over the world. Description: This photo was taken in the hopes to capture young monks out visiting the Grand Palace in Bangkok without them being aware of me or my camera. Untitled--Jennifer Myers
Description: By some happy coincidence, my 20th birthday and Oktoberfest were on the same weekend while I was abroad. I decided that attending would be the perfect birthday idea, and also give me an opportunity to see my old host family/best friends from Stuttgart. Little do some people know, Stuttgart hosts the second biggest Oktoberfest celebrations next to Munich. They call it Wasen. Also, there is more to Oktoberfest than just drinking but also games, rides, and delicious     food! I celebrated with my friends at the fair, and had a great time. While on the Ferris wheel, I was able to take this photo of the celebrations, the crazy crowd and other Ferris wheel across the way!

Description: My friend and I took a day trip to see the picturesque town of Hallstatt. We waited until late in the year, making it one of our last trips and in the winter. Much to our excitement, because we waited, a snowstorm hit Hallstatt right before our adventure. When we arrived it was like walking into a holiday greetings card. Frank Sinatra was playing over a loudspeaker, the Christmas markets were up, and the Alps were blanketed in snow. We were so excited to get to see the city in a different type of climate than those who went before. We hiked through the mountains in the freezing temperatures, which is where I was able to snap this beautiful photo.
