Program Description
This seminar puts an emphasis in learning on site through visits with companies like Enterprise, HSBC, or Netflix, as well as the professionals who support their success through cultural orientation, global talent management consulting, visa & immigration services, compensation & benefits, travel logistics and more. Visits will include a variety of service types.

Students will complete online pre-reading and participate in a short webinar prior to the trip. An individual project will allow students to select and study an area of interest. By experiencing a new culture through the lens of an international assignment, students will get a first-hand glimpse into the benefits and challenges that come with working on an international assignment.

This seminar serves as a great introduction to the process for HR professionals new to global mobility, managers leading global teams, professionals interested in working internationally and anyone interested in working or doing business in London

Given the global professional environment that most professional will experience, it's helpful to understand what an international assignment is and why it could be beneficial to an organization and an employee. Many appreciate the glamor and excitement of an international job, but are not aware of the cost and impact. This course will introduce and discuss the key components that need to be considered for a successful international assignment. Visits with professionals who manage, coordinate and experience international assignments in London will allow students a unique opportunity to see what works and what does not in a location that has an important international business perspective.

This course is an elective credit for all Walker School programs.

Program Cost 
Program Fee: $2,610
What's included: 6 nights of shared accommodations; Welcome and Farewell dinners, two group lunches and daily breakfast, all organized academic and cultural activities including a London bus tour with river cruise, local transportation card
What's not included: Airfare; some meals (see above-included meals); transportation to/from airport; personal expenses; passport or visa fees; all activities organized outside of the set program itinerary
Study Abroad Fee: $175 (covers international insurance & ISIC card)

Students may be eligible for Webster study abroad scholarships.  Please reference the Study Abroad website for more information.
Spring Break scholarship deadline- March 15th

Application Process  
Application Deadline: March 15th, 2019

To apply, follow these steps:
1) Ensure you meet the study abroad eligibility requirements
2) Start an application via the Webster online application system
3) The application will ask you to fill out a number of forms, pay the $100 study abroad deposit*, write a brief statement of purpose, submit a passport copy and a passport sized photos. 

*The $100 application deposit is refundable to if ALL of the following conditions are met: 1) Student attends the program 
2) Student completes the pre and post-study abroad surveys 3) Student does not have any outstanding program charges.
