Students will become aware of the nature of the “art-world” and the broader context in which recent art is situated. A primary aspect of the course will be an investigation of the role of the international art exhibition in contemporary art, and especially the rise and dominance of the international/independent curator.
*The $1,955 program fee includes airfare from St. Louis to Venice, boat taxi transfers from airport in Venice, 5 nights accommodation in Venice, entry tickets to events, and selected meals.
**Summer study abroad students are exempt from the $150 Study Abroad fee.
†Please Note: The deposit will be refunded if there are not enough enrollments and the program is canceled. A deposit is non-refundable after the deadline only if the program has sufficient enrollments and a student withdraws or drops the program.
