Housing
UAG has no on-campus dormitories but the International Exchange Department has a list of approved families who offer excellent room and board to visiting students.
Living with a host family will broad your cultural and language experience in Mexico. Also, if you have no previous knowledge of the city or living abroad, it is the preferred way to go.
International Club
For the purpose of helping students coming to UAG from other countries to achieve a well rounded, enriching and pleasant experience, UAG has an International Club made up of students. Its mission is to provide foreign students the opportunities to integrate into college life and into the social and cultural environment of Guadalajara and Mexico in general.
Towards this end the Club organizes different cultural, sports and social activities such as:
- A Conversation Group
- A Cooking Group
- Soccer, basketball, tennis, swimming and other tournaments
- Trips to movie theaters and musical concerts
- Participation in art and cultural festivals in the city
- A Folklore Dance Group
Besides trips into town, there will be opportunities to join in several field trips to important cultural and historic sites in Mexico City; Guanajuato, Michoacan, and to the most typical places in the State of Jalisco: Lake Chapala, the town of Tequila, Tlaquepaque (an arts and crafts town), and so forth. These optional trips are offered at a moderate cost.
