Improving Campus Recycling

The Culture of Green project (COG), funded by a St. Louis County Health Department grant, is an innovative attempt to develop best practices for increasing the amount of recyclable material that we keep out of local landfills and divert instead to recycling facilities. COG is built around the simple concept of making it easier for people to recycle.  To that end, we’re conducting a pilot program in Loretto (2nd Floor) and Academic Advising in which we remove the trash cans at individual workstations and replace them with recycle bins.  Non-recyclable waste will be collected in just a few large bins stationed in your office break room and bathrooms.
