Media and Academic Technology Services
The Media and Academic Technology Services Department, as part of Webster's IT Department, supports the mission of Webster University in six primary areas:
ACADEMIC TECHNOLOGY – planning for and supporting the use of instructional technology in Webster's Learning Environments, and providing assistance to students, faculty and staff in the use of technologies available at Webster.
MEDIA CENTER – The management of equipment and facilities used by faculty and students in the School of Communications to accomplish their shared educational objectives and provide students with experience using professional equipment and facilities in audio, animation, film and video production.
PHOTOGRAPHY AND DARKROOM – Photography majors and other students (art, education, design, journalism, etc.) can take advantage of two professional photography studios, a wide selection of film and digital cameras, and a fully equipped darkroom and digital printing facility.
VIDEO CONFERENCING – Administering the use of Video Conferencing capabilities for meetings, seminars and classroom use.
VIDEO STREAMING – Providing live video streaming for certain events on campus.
EVENT, MEETING AND CONFERENCE SUPPORT – The Media and Academic Technology Services works with all campus organizations to support events that require audio/video technology to improve the effectiveness of speakers who visit campus, meetings, conferences and other events.
