Installing and Setting Up the SunONE Synchronization Tool
Used in conjunction with Outlook
Use the Sun ONE Synchronization Tool to keep appointments between your Connections
and Microsoft Outlook calendars in sync. This feature is only compatible with Microsoft
Windows XP, 200, NT 4.0, or 98. To set up the tool, complete each of the following
tasks in the order listed.
- Download and Install the Synchronization Tool
- Configure the Tool
- Schedule Synchronization
Downloading and Installing the Synchronization Tool
- Download the Sun One Sync Tool.
- Click Save file to save it to your computer.
- In the Downloads folder on your computer, find the file with the name sync-1.1p2-en.x86-intel-winnt4.0.exe.
Double-click it to start the installation wizard.
Note: This is an executable file. Depending upon your system's security settings, you may be prompted to accept a security warning when you double-click the file before it will open.
- Click Next.
- Click Yes to agree to the License Agreement from Sun.

- Click the box next to Microsoft Outlook 98/2000.
Note: Even though it says Microsoft Outlook 98/2000, this tool works with Outlook XP and 2003 as well.
- Click Next.

- Click Next to verify your installation and continue. The program will now install.
Please wait until the installation finishes.

- Click Finish.
- Configure the Synchronization tool.
Configuring the Tool
- Click your Windows Start button and go to Programs > Sun ONE Synchronization > Synchronize
with Outlook. The Synchronization tool will appear.

- Click on SunONE and choose Configure.

- Enter the following settings:
- Click OK.
- Click on Settings.
- In the General tab, choose Display confirmation message before removing records.

- In the Conflicts tab, choose Prompt for which record to use.

- In the Data Sources tab:
•If the calendar you want to sync to is NOT your own personal calendar in Connections, click Sun ONE Calendar then click Change. A list of the calendars you have access to will appear, choose the one you wish to sync and click OK.

•To make sure the tool knows where your Outlook calendar is, click Outlook Calendar and click Change. A list of your Outlook personal folders will appear. Click Calendar and click OK.
- To make sure the tool knows where your Outlook calendar is, click Outlook Calendar and click Change. A list of your Outlook personal folders will appear. Click Calendar and click OK.
- Click OK.
- Click Exit.
Setting up Synchronization as a Scheduled Task
Note: This will only work IF you have a password set up for your Windows logon.
- Click on Start > Settings > Control Panel.
- Double-click on Scheduled Tasks.
- Double-click on Add Scheduled Task. The Scheduled Task wizard will appear.

- Click Next.

- Scroll down to and select Synchronize with Outlook. Then, click Next.
- Choose Daily and click Next.

- Choose the time you wish the task to run. Then, choose Weekdays and click Next.

- Enter your Windows logon password, then confirm.
Note: This is NOT your Novell logon; it is the Windows logon. Remember, this will not work if you have it set up with a blank password.
- Click Finish.
