Guest Wireless User Agreement

 

  1. Guest Wireless access is provided as a complimentary service to the approved affiliates of Webster University. 
  2. Users of Guest Wireless are subject to all provisions in the Webster University Technology Acceptable Use Policy (http://www.webster.edu/technology/references/acceptable-use-policy.html). 
  3. Guest Wireless access is provided “as is”, without any warranties, express or implied. 
  4. You are responsible for your use of Guest Wireless access and you shall  not create any liability for Webster University or cause Webster University  to lose (in whole or in part) the services of its suppliers. 
  5. Webster University has the right to terminate your account and   connection on the Guest Wireless network at any time for any reason with or without notice. 
  6. You must log-out from Guest Wireless Network prior to leaving the Webster University premises. 
  7. You should have no expectation of privacy when using Guest Wireless Network. Webster University cannot guarantee that storage transmission of Internet communications will be private. 
  8. The connection is not encrypted.
  9. You are responsible for the security of your system and any communications you make or receive.
  10. Webster University reserves the right to monitor this connection without notifying you; if evidence of abuse is uncovered, it will be investigated;   therefore, you acknowledge and agree that Webster University may   access, monitor, audit, intercept and disclose any of your communications   through the Guest Wireless Network.
  11. You will not send or receive inappropriate materials through the Guest Wireless Network, such as:
    • Derogatory racial comments.
    • Sexual content (pornography).
    • Derogatory religious comments
    • Offensive language.
    • Violence.
    • Defamation or derogatory/abusive attacks on any individual/group.

12. You should not attempt to:

    • Access resources that you don’t have valid access to.
    • Circumvent Webster’s security measures.
    • Exploit a system’s vulnerabilities, including a direct attack or use of Probe or “hacking” tools.
    • Violate rights protected by copyright, trade secret, patent or other intellectual property, or similar laws or regulations.
    • Violate any governmental law or regulation
    • Introduce malicious programs, e.g., viruses, worms, Trojan horses, or email bombs, that may damage, detrimentally interfere with surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, data or personal information.
    • Make fraudulent offers of products, items, or services.
    • Use email for spamming
    • Use Internet streaming technologies (audio or video), Web cameras or multi-player gaming technologies without prior written approval from Webster University
    • Access the Internet or send email other than as yourself or access resources using another individual’s account name or password.
  1. You shall not share or reveal your Guest Wireless Network user ID or password with or to anyone other than your Webster University Sponsor. Additionally, you must never log-on to Guest Wireless Network to let someone else work under your user ID and password. You shall NEVER ask someone else for his/her user ID and password to the Guest Wireless Network. If your Guest Wireless Network password becomes known by someone other than yourself or your Webster University Sponsor, you must immediately so advise your Webster University Sponsor.
