    Certification in Secondary Education

    The Missouri requirements for secondary certification in biology may be met by completion of the following courses:

    History/Philosophy of Science and Technology 3 hours minimum
    Biology (including zoology and botany with labs) 8 hours minimum
    Chemistry (with labs)   8 hours minimum
    Physics (with labs)  8 hours minimum
    Earth Science (including geology and meteorology) 8 hours minimum
    Environmental Science  4 hours minimum
    Additional credit hours in biology, including:
    Zoology
    Microbiology
    Botany
    Anatomy and Physiology
    Genetics
    Ecology
    Cell/Biochemistry
    Evolution
    20 hours minimum
