While pursuing the master’s degree in TESL, graduate students refine their knowledge of the English language system and second language acquisition. They study phonology, dialects and legal policies that influence teaching standards. The program results in a TESL diploma and TEFL certificate.

The master of arts in teaching English as a second language (MA in TESL) at Webster University is designed for individuals who seek to develop the English skills of non-native speakers living either overseas or in the United States. The program allows candidates to develop a solid theoretical background in critical aspects such as culture, language structure, first and second language acquisition theory, curriculum and materials development, teaching methodology, assessment and research, while preparing them to become effective language teachers.

The MA TESL program is currently only offered at the following locations:

  • Navoi Street main campus
  • Uzbekistan State University of World Languages
  • Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages. 

The application process and requirements, tuition fee, study program, and diploma are the same at each location. Each student chooses which location they prefer to attend.

Webster's MA TESL program schedule is geared to suit your busy working schedule. Classes take place twice a week during or even on Saturdays, at a time most convenient for your cohort.

    Application Process

 

Webster University requires specific steps and qualifications for admission to graduate programs. Brief descriptions can be found below, but prospective graduate students should consult the full admission policies.

 

 Documents required to apply for master's programs:

 

  • Diploma(s) and transcript(s) from your bachelor's degree studies
  • English language test results
  • Most recent CV (Curriculum Vitae)
  • Copy of your passport

  • Tuition Fee and Policy

 

The total tuition fee for the MA TESL program is 4200 USD for the entire program, paid in soums based on the Central Bank rate. Students have the option of paying in installments.

 

Should a student decide to drop or withdrawal from the university, it is the student's responsibility to file the drop or withdrawal form(s) with the Office of the Registrar by the deadline. The student tuition refund rates are based on when a student drops or withdraws from a course in accordance with University enrollment policies and the refund has been approved.
