Anon MOUNTAIN MAID BEST MADE . Waverly, IA, G & R Publishing Co. Perhaps the best know of Haitian Cookbooks.
Spiral binding to open flat on table. From soup jamou to mango chutney, filled
with attractive recipies. Very fine condition.
-
Anon (1996). OPERATION GREEN LEAVES: REFORESTATION OF HAITI . Audubon, Iowa, Jumbo Jack's Cookbooks. Cute format. A three ring binder 8.5 x 7.5 inches. Tabs for various categories. Bean sausages caught my eye and I'm always in for griyo, but peanut-fruit sauce... just doesn't grab me. Nice book in very good condition.
-
Betterdorf Christian, C. (1998). RECIPES FROM THE HEART . Bettendorf, Iowa, Morris Press. Spiral binding,
74 pages, plus another dozen or more of food measurements and such. Book seems not to be of Haitian cooking, but a cook book of people's favorite recipies and done as a fund-raiser for Haiti.
-
Hamelecourt, J. (1980). CARIBBEAN COOKBOOK . Melrose Park, IL, Delair Publishing Company.
8.5x10 inche hard bound book with mouth-watering meal on cover. Meatballs a Haitienne
is one of the featured recipies, but mainly it focuses not on a particular country,
but on general Caribbean foods and styles of preparation. Very nice book.
-
Menager, M. C. (2005). FINE HAITIAN CUISINE: A BROAD COLLECTION OF HAITIAN RECIPES . Coconut Creek, Fl., Educa Vision, Inc.
This is a HUGE book. 8.5x11 inches and wopping 448 pages. Some lovely tips on the foods and how to prepare them with some b/w photos to illustrate. There are also color photos to show how the foods should be presented on the plate. Mouth-watering recipies and photos.

- Paper bound $60.00
-
Ortiz, E. L. (1973). THE COMPLETE BOOK OF CARIBBEAN COOKING . New York, M. Evans and Company, Inc.
"Complete book" of anything is rather ambitious. However, this 437 page volume with a fairly long index, makes a serious effort. Recipies are not separated out by
country, but all are Caribbean in ingredients, names and flair. Hard bound book
in good condition.
-
Parker, L. MOUNTAIN FAITH MISSION: LENDING A HELPING HAND . Mirebalais, Haiti. This is a fund raising cook-book not of Haiti or Caribbean cuisine, but local favorites of the people in Iowa who are funding
some work in Haiti. Spirial binding to lay flat on table. Very good condition.
-
Stewart, J. (1980). HAITI: VIVID AND SPIRITED, HAITI STILL CASTS ITS OWN MAGIC SPELL This is a magazine article disbound from the magazine
itself. Lots of brilliant color photos taken by the author. Seems to be 9 pages
long and features recipies from the Mont Joli Hotel in Cap Haitian.
-
The American Home Economics Association, e. (1951). THE WORLD'S FAVORITE RECIPIES FROM THE UNITED NATIONS . New York, Harper and Brothers, Publishers. Recipies in this paper bound book are done by country. Many
countries represented including Haiti. Just a few recipies for each country, but
lots of fascinating variety. Paper bound.
-
Time, L. (1970). RECIPES: THE COOKING OF THE CARIBBEAN ISLANDS . New York, Time-Life Books. Spiral bound to open flat on a table. Recipies are not separated specifically by country, but DEFINITELY a total Caribbean flair to all recipies. 143 pages. Good condition.
