"Hobby Home Grp Here!," or more simply , began as the name of a subject, under the topic Hobbies, and the moved to Alcoholism Recovery, in the Medical Support Bulletin Board, on the Prodigy Service. Now, we have our own message center right here on the web itself, at the HHGH Message Board or you can join our mailing list at

We are a small group within a worldwide fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.

The only requirement for 'membership' is to find us on the internet, or at HHGH Message Board , and join in the discussion, and - share, share, share (to use the phrase coined by a man from Michigan that many of us refer to as the 'Chairman of the Board'). Our group has always welcomed all newcomers and will continue to do so with open arms as long as we still exist.

Of course, there are, like elsewhere in our 'parent' fellowship, a microcosm of everybody in the whole world - and some of them are, would you believe, what are in some places referred to as 'wags', in others as 'smart-a.. lecs' (this IS after all, a family board)!!

And some of those wags like to playfully welcome newcomers to our midst by asking some "sacred" [actually, closer to cockamamie] questions so that HHGH newbies can acclimate themselves to our fun-loving bunch right off the bat. The usual questions asked vary from time to time, but are usually in the vein of : "Do you walk to work? - or bring your lunch?" (Which is comparatively really one of the saner and easier questions to answer /\ unlike the tough ones such as "Which shoe do you put on first in the morning?"!) Not only do the questions / answers get new HHGH members quickly acclimated to our brand of lightheartedness, but entertain the 'oldies' (but goodies) who have been around a while, as well as letting everybody sorta loosen up and get comfortable with each other.

Not that our sharing is all joking and laughing, because the members of HHGH seem to have a most magically empathetic quality we have shared with each other over the years. That magic has shown us to collectively have the loving and caring attitudes which have drawn us so close to each other, that we refer to each other as 'our family-of-choice'!

A loving 'motto' (a special phrase which came straight from the heart of an HHGHer in New Jersey) has emerged from our warmest moments, as well as our mutually shared laughs, tears, hugs, advice, tiffs, consensus's, arguments, agreements, longings, joys, sadnesses, good times, bad times, active times, inactive (lurking) times, fears, life's desires you know, the 'stuff of life' and that is:
" We Belong ! "
