| Comments: Although
the basic design of the flap is similar to the S2a
and S2b, there are some significant differences. This variety was the
last
run ordered by the lodge prior to the introduction of a new common
design
(S10). The sky in the S2c is pale blue (PBL). However, the most
recognizable
difference in the S2c is the loss of a tree. There are only 5 trees
left
of the 159 in the S2c (in contrast to the 6 trees in the S2a and S2b).
In
addition, the S2c has a smaller (9x8mm) and more defined fdl than the
S2a/b.
Another recognizable difference is the plastic back of the S2c.
It
is a much whiter plastic backing than the S2a/b. It overpowers the
brown
backing of the longhouse. This flap was only used for a few years. The correct chronological ordering of the S2 varieties does not correspond to the a,b,c,d,e designations in the Blue Book (they were assigned letters based on discovery). The correct chronological order is S2e, S2a, S2b, S2d, and S2c. |
