CHECK OUT YOUR
SYSTEMS CONFIGURATION

Select one of the following depending upon which operating system is installed on your PC. If any of these procedures have changed as new versions have been released, please let me know what specific revisions should be made so that I can update this web page.

FOR WINDOWS XP Users:

To view system information (such as your PC's name and model, BIOS version or available physical memory) select START, ALL PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES, SYSTEM TOOLS, SYSTEM INFORMATION. The System Information window appears with your System Summary in the right pane.

Click on the plus sign in front of the different categories on the left to see the various subsystems contained in each section.

Click on any of the subsystems and the parameter settings will be displayed in the right-hand viewing pane.

Click on FILE, then EXPORT to save the data as a text file that you can save and then review later on. Or you can click on FILE and PRINT to obtain a hard-copy printout. (BEWARE: this report could be very big so make sure that you have plenty of paper in your printer's paper tray).

FOR WINDOWS NT Users:

From the Windows desktop, click on MY COMPUTER; then CONTROL PANEL; then SYSTEM.

On the SYSTEMS PROPERTIES page, a tab/section labeled GENERAL displays info about your operating system, its version number, and your Internet browser version. At the bottom of the box there is also info about your CPU and RAM.
