I will try to grade and record your
homework assignments as I receive them during the week. However, I will
not enter the points for that assignment (the points at the bottom of
the spreadsheet) until the actual due date has arrived.
If you turn in an
assignment early, you will probably see a composite grade in excess of
100%. When the due date for that assignment arrives, the percentages
will be recomputed to reflect your true composite score. For
consistency, the grades are
computed for the entire class ... not for each individual.
If you don't take a test on time,
your overall grade will probably reflect an F until you take the makeup
test and I enter your test score.
Rather than worrying about the "ups and
downs" of your overall percentile score each week, just make sure that the entries
for each test and each homework assignment are entered correctly. The
spreadsheet will take care of the computations.
