COMMENTS:
You've almost made it! Only 2 more
classes to go and you will have another 3 credit hours added to your transcript. For those
of you who have just started out in the Webster program, you now know that these semesters
can go by very quickly.
For most of you, this course has been
a very "information intensive" course. You have been exposed to a wide range of
topics and a lot of new jargon. I have tried to cover topics that you will either
encounter in the ITM program or ones that you will encounter in the real world (whether or
not you are a computer major). And while you haven't got out early from any of these
classes, we still could have spent a lot more time discussing any of these topics in more
detail. In other words, we only scratched the surface. The learning process is not over.
I have tried
to test you primarily on the "basic concepts" that were in the book. With the
information we have covered, you should have a good frame of reference by which to
understand other computer related concepts as you encounter them. You should now know what
is good or bad, what is new or old, what is easy or hard, and what is cheap or costly. How
you build upon it and use it is up to you.
There has been a method to my
madness. I can assure you that it's not all madness. No matter what grade you receive in
this course, I am confident that you will find (as time goes on) that you have learned a
lot more than you may give yourself credit for right now. You may also have come to
realize that "Learning can be fun. It's remembering that's hard!".
