There will be many stops throughout this learning journey.
Climb aboard! I hope you enjoy the activities.

Stop  #1

The first thing we need to do is get comfortable and listen to the story. We will hear the story, the first time, as a whole group.  As we listen, we need to pay careful attention to the sequence of the story. We will stop reading every once in a while and talk about what has happened. We will practice retelling the details in order to prepare for creating our timeline. Also, pay special attention to how the author describes things. Do the descriptions wake up your senses?

Here are a few vocabulary words we may want to think about: If you need the definition just click on the word.

Before you begin the project section, take a look at the scoring guide. Then, you will know how to plan your project and how it will be graded.

Stop #2

Now, it is time to get with your learning partner or small group. You will work together to retell the story using this timelineBe sure to write your name in the passenger section of the ticket. Also, make sure you print a copy for each person.

Special letter to Santa:

If you could have only one thing for Christmas, what would you ask Santa to bring you? Think of the things that have made you happiest in the past. Do you still have some of them? What made these things so special. Make a copy of the letter paper, then write him a thoughtful letter. We'll send them off and see if he has time to write back before Christmas.
