Step 1 - First, your team will research and gather information on the life of Roald Dahl and his works. The resource section will list links for you to visit and find information.

Step 2 - Second, your team will select and save pictures of Roald Dahl and his books to include in your informational brochure. You will find pictures to choose from on your different sites.

Step 3 - Your team will write a biography of the life of Roald Dahl. Begin your writing by creating a web of ideas using Inspiration. Be sure to follow all five steps of the writing process. Conference with your teacher after you complete each step of the writing process. Included in your biography should be a list of at least 10 children's fantasies written by Roald Dahl and several examples of his other works. All of this information will go in the inside of the informational brochure for the big event. Your published brochure will be completed using Microsoft Word. Be sure to include several pictures of Roald Dahl and his books on the brochure.

Step 4 - Prepare a creative cover for your brochure. You may use pictures you have selected or you may create your cover using colored pencils or paint.

Step 5 - Select a representative from your team to prepare a brief introduction speech to welcome Roald Dahl before he speaks at your school.

Step 6 - Create an information poster about Roald Dahl's appearance at "Meet the Author Night". Your poster should also include the date and time at the big event.

It is up to your team to agree upon who will be responsible for each part of the assignment. All members of the team are responsible for the finished product. Be sure to work together to make this an outstanding event for your school!
