Week Eight 

Before the end of the last class session you need to: 

  • Contribute to a class discussion of issues and methods of evaluation of web information.
  • Visit the web sites created by members of both sections of the class and e-mail your reactions to the authors. Go to Students
  • If you're taking the class for 2 credit hours and chose not to put it on a web page, send instructor contents of your bookmark folder on your self-selected topic in nursing/health as well as submit a printed copy.
  • Send a final group e-mail message to your instructor and classmates.
  • Have some fun!
Week Seven 

Today you need to: 

  • Check the Students page to see if I have your web page topic correctly identified. E-mail me - either what your topic is or that it is OK.
Before Sunday,  May 3  you need to: 
  • Finish and post your web pages to the auden computer.
  • E-mail your ideas for evaluation of information on the internet to your instructor.
  • Submit your last nursing "link of the week".
  • Communicate with your classmates.
  • Submit via e-mail to your instructor any lingering questions to be addressed in our last class meeting.
Week Six 

Before the seventh class session you need to be working to: 

    For web pages: 
  • Create your web site structure (2 levels and at least 4 pages)
  • Write the content.
  • Add background and images (minimum of 2). 
  • Add pertinent links.
  • Write personal information you want on your page.
  • For regular class activities: 
     

  • Continue communicating.
  • Continue to work APA assignment as needed.
  • Submit your nursing "link of the week".
  • Work on listing of issues and methods for evaluation of web sites.
Week Five 

Before the sixth class session you need to: 

    For web pages: 
  • Begin to plan your web site structure (2 levels and at least 4 pages)
  • Gather background and images (minimum of 2) to support the structure and content.
  • Start planning and writing the content.
  • Gather pertinent links.
  • Plan what personal information you want on your page.
  • For regular class activities: 
     

  • Continue communicating.
  • Continue to work on CINAHL  and APA assignments as needed.
  • Submit your nursing "link of the week".
  • Work on listing of issues and methods for evaluation of web sites. 
Week Four 

Before the fifth class session you need to: 

  • Continue communicating.
  • Continue to work on CINAHL assignment as needed.
  • Submit your nursing "link of the week".
  • Collect and save images and ideas to use in your web page.
  • Find a minimum of eight sites detailing citation of electronic sources in APA style. Due week seven.
  • Work on listing of issues and methods for evaluation of web sites.
Week Three 

Before the fourth class session you need to: 

  • Explore all sections of Passports.
  • Continue communicating with all.
  • Submit your "link of the week".
  • You are to search CINAHL - your first search must yield at least 100 matches and then using the advanced search parameters you must narrow your search until the results yield 10 or fewer matches. Submit all printouts of the CINAHL searches which show results and search terms used.  This assignment is due Week Six.
Week Two 

Before the third class session you need to: 

  • Send an e-mail message to your instructor which should include: 
    • (a) any questions you have, and 
    • (b) your "link of the week" pick (make sure it is different from others listed and that it  is related to nursing or health. 
  • Communicate individually with others in your class via e-mail and send a group message. 
  • Explore the internet and add to your bookmarks if you have the opportunity.
  • Be thinking about a topic in nursing or health about which you want to do extensive research.
Week One  

Before the second class session you need to: 

  • Send an e-mail message to your instructor which should include: 
    • (a) how you are feeling about using the computer and the internet, 
    • (b) any questions you have, and 
    • (c) your "link of the week" pick. 
  • Communicate with others in your class via e-mail.
