NURS-4600 ~ Calendar ~ Week Three

  • Discussion:
    • Where and when did the Internet begin???
    • Discussion of questions posed by class members.
    • Review managing e-mail
      • Address books
      • Folders
      • Replying and forwarding mail.
    • Review how to save images and backgrounds. 
    • Evaluating Web Sites - factors to consider
    Activities:
    • Set mail and news preferences.
    • Open your bookmark file from your disk.
    • Explore  web page examples: some created by previous students in this course and others deemed interesting by your instructor. Connect to: Web pages.
    • Explore the internet using search engines and links identified by your classmates.
    • Reset mail and news preferences on lab computer before shutting down.
    Assignments: Before the fourth class session**you need to:
    • Continue to communicate with instructor and classmates via individual and group e-mail.  
      • Use the "reply" option to reply to a designated instructor e-mail message.
      • Use the "reply all" option to respond to one of the group messages you have received.
      • Use the "forward" option to reply to a designated instructor e-mail message.
    • Continue to collect bookmarks in your file for sites related to your designated topic and other topics of interest.
    • Begin saving images, backgrounds, etc. to use later on your web page.
    • Begin planning and writing the content for your web page. (we will spend much  more time with this next class session) 
    • E-mail your pick for "link of the week" to your instructor. Also catch up on any links selections you may be behind - I should have received three from each of you by now. Make sure these are different from those listed on the links page.
    **PLEASE NOTE: All e-mail assignments to your instructor need to be sent no later than midnight, Saturday preceding class.
