Welcome to the "Nursing and the Internet" pages. My name is Margo Thompson and I'm a member of the nursing faculty and an academic advisor at Webster University's Kansas City Metropolitan Campus. Webster, an international university, has its home campus in Webster Groves, Missouri. To find out more about the university click on the globe at the top left corner of any of these pages. The BSN Program at Webster is a degree completion program for registered nurses and is designed for the adult learner.
This course came about as a result of my interest in the internet as an information and communication tool and was inspired by the frustrations expressed by students in trying to learn how to use it. One student in particular, Debbie Jaklevic, suggested that a course was needed. So here it is! I've been teaching nursing for over 30 years at a variety of places including the University of Kansas, Hutchinson Community College, Saint Mary of the Plains College, and Webster in Saint Louis. I came to the Kansas City campus in 1994 when my husband was transferred. My education includes four years at Stanford University, a BSN, MA and EdD from the University of Kansas and an MSN from The Wichita State University. My latest aventure is enrollment in a WebSite Development Certificate Program as an on-line student. The
trees in the picture's background are to remind us that soon the summer
and fall will be gone, and winter will be here!
