APRN Titling Bill
Good News -- the bill MONA drafted changing the title of APNs to APRN has been adopted by the Senate 34 to 0!  We asked that the bill be introduced by Senator Quick as a consent bill.  Now that it has been adopted it will go to Rep. Boehnen in the House.  Please send Sen. Quick a note of thanks.

 SB 1255 Controlled Substances
Senator Dougherty agreed to sponsor this bill for us.  It does limit the prescriptive privileges to Schedules III, IV, and V.  We will continue to pursue privileges for Schedule II.  We know this year is the year of introduction and next year the year of work.  Hopefully the bill will be heard this Monday, March 15.  I'm looking for a few volunteers who could be available on short notice to come in and testify.  If you're interested please let me know at belinda@missourinurses.org.  We will help with your testimony.  We will also be limited on the number of who can speak.  You may want to thank Sen. Dougherty for introducing the bill.

Missouri HealthVoice to preserve Missouri Medicaid

The Missouri Budget Project has created a new Missouri HealthVoice campaign as a statewide effort to preserve Medicaid. We need your help in getting the word out- and we need people who would be willing to serve as "point people" for media and convening at each site. PLEASE let me know if you can help with this, and PLEASE spread the word as wide and far as possible, let me know if you can send it out to your lists. The first round of publlic forums are:

Webster Community Center St. Louis, Saturday March 20th 10:00am to noon.
Show me Center, Cape Girardeau, Tuesday March 23rd 7:00-9:00pm
Truman Library Independence, Thursday March 25 7:00-9:00pm
House Hearing Room Jefferson City, April 13, 7:00-9:00pm
Location to be announced Clinton April 24, 10:00am-noon

These meetings are open to the public. We want to show that the public supports Medicaid and secure Heathcare programs for our Seniors, Disabled, Moms and Children.
Please contact me or Jennifer Hill, Coordinator, Missouri Health Voice with any suggestions or with your availability. We
especially need help in the Cape Girardeau and Clinton areas but all help is appreciated.
