Gustav Theodor Fechner (1801-1878)
His Elements of Psychophysics, one of the great original classics in psychology, set forth a systematic approach to psychophysics.
He founded several of the early psychophysical methods and helped lay the conceptual and methodological foundations for the new discipline of psychology.
