As the national leader in collegiate chess, Webster will host the President’s Cup, the "Final Four of College Chess," for the first time on Saturday and Sunday, April 1-2, in St. Louis.  

Webster received a $1.4 million Robert Noyce grant from the National Science Foundation. Webster Educating STEM Teachers Bound for Success is a five-year grant that will provide future STEM teachers with scholarships and opportunities during their junior and senior years of study at Webster University.

Webster University was awarded more than $1 million as part of the funding bill signed by President Joe Biden, to increase accessibility to nationally ranked Nursing, Counseling, Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice and other STEM programs. 

The School of Communications recently added the first virtual cinema video wall in the region and a state-of-the-art recording studio suite, where students are provided hands-on training and deep immersion in industry-standard techniques.

For the ninth time in 11 years, Webster University’s chess team, a national leader in collegiate chess competition and higher education, won first place in the 2023 Pan-American Intercollegiate Chess Championships. 

For the 31st year in a row, Webster University was listed in Diverse Issues in Higher Education magazine’s annual ranking of the 100 top institutions of higher education that conferred the most undergraduate and graduate degrees to students who identify as Black, Asian, Latino or Native American. 

Webster is working with Jefferson College in Missouri to address barrier to college education for rural students with innovative scholarship program.

The Edward Jones College Career Pathways Partnership offers Webster undergraduate students from under-resourced communities new opportunities to build the necessary skills, cultural competencies, teamwork and problem-solving skills to help them succeed in financial services careers.
