Developing Creative and Strategic Communicators

Beyond simply selling a product, advertising and marketing is about connecting with people in creative ways, reaching specific audiences, and understanding the ways and means of promotion. Students and marketing professionals in Webster's Advertising and Marketing Communications programs learn theory and application to help develop a creative, competitive edge, while learning to analyze traditional advertising, social media, and mobile marketing campaigns to establish and advance in their careers.

Advertising and Marketing Communications majors learn all phases of the communications process through hands-on experience planning, budgeting, creative strategy development, copywriting, creative advertising production, media planning and research. Students are encouraged to take advantage of internship openings with companies such as Osborn Barr Paramore, Momentum Worldwide, Emmis Communications, Live Nation, Moosylvania, Javelin, Inc., Fox Sports Midwest, HLK, and St. Louis Magazine.

Undergraduate students also have the opportunity to participate in planning and executing a multimedia advertising campaign. In recent years, some of these campaigns won regional awards and ranked among the top 10 in national competitions.

Students who earn a minor or bachelor's degree in Advertising and Marketing Communications become successful professionals and have careers such as:

  • 360i, Sr. Art Director
  • Momentum Worldwide, Associate Creative Director
  • Elsevier, Marketing Coordinator
