From Tyler Vahldick:
Here is how to solve the mic fazing problem for Zoom lessons. This is for PC and Mac desktop settings.

  1. Launch Zoom
  2. At the bottom-left you will see your mute button, next to the mute button you will see a up arrow ( ^ ) click this which will open a drop down menu, and click audio settings.
  3. Once in audio settings, you will want to uncheck “automatically adjust volume” then navigate to the bottom right to the “advanced” button. Click this.
  4. Disable the following; “Suppress persistent background noise” and “Suppress Intermittent background noise”
  5. Once you have done this, you should be able to close the window, and everything should save, and should fix that issue.
